As you guys know I am a huge fan of Double Wear, so I thought it was about time I gave Double Wear Light a try. I was recommended this foundation by a blogger when I did my Double Wear review and I cannot remember what her name was, I am so sorry but you were so right this foundation is amaazzinngg!!
Double Wear Light, is a light to medium coverage foundation which is long lasting and gives a nice even finish to the skin. If you are looking for a heavier coverage then I would definitely recommend the original Double Wear, because that is also amazing and the staying power is fab. But I love the way the Double Wear Light gives me plenty of coverage and also looks very natural at the same time. It’s a great foundation that evens your skin tone and gives a good base for your makeup.
15-hour wear, light as air—long-wear makeup is now lightweight makeup.
Makeup That Keeps Up
• Fresh, natural, comfortable.
• Goes on sheer, leaves skin free to breathe all day.
• Controls oil.
• Resists smudging and won’t “melt” off through heat and humidity.
For a look that stays vibrant and fresh whether it’s a workday, a workout or a weekend. Smooth it on once and don’t think twice about it.
Packaging: The packaging is quite simple but it still looks very elegant and chic. It’s a squeezy tube that is much more practical as you can easily see how much you are squeezing out.
I apply this foundation with my Real Technique Stippling Brush which gives a nice even coverage all over my skin. It doesn’t have a dewy finish or a matte finish but in the somewhere in the middle, so I have to apply a powder on top so its shine-free, since I have really oily skin which can be a bit annoying.
I agree with the 15 hour wear… Well I have never had a foundation on for 15 hours but I have had it on for 8-10 hours and it has lasted me but I did have to top up the powder during the day.
Overall I do love this foundation; it leaves your skin with a natural finish and the lasting power is amazing and it does not smudge. I would definitely recommend this foundation for a day time foundation.
Thanks for reading my blog 🙂
There has been quite some hype for this product in the blogosphere; they have been known to be a great dupe for the YSL lip stains and for a fraction of the price.
I was quite excited to try these out but never got the chance. I thought this was the best time for me to try the lip stains; Boots had an offer going on for their L’Oreal products, 3 for 2 and I didn’t feel bad spending the money because I knew I would get one free.
• Lipstain Power: Fresh colour feels barely there
• Lipgloss Shine: Lacquer shine plus non-sticky feel
• Caring Colour: 6HR continuous hydration
• Available in 12 Shades
Discover a stain that thinks it’s a gloss. Now hydration & shine meet lasting, lightweight colour. Colour Caresse by Colour Riche® Shine Stain combines the power of a lip stain with lip-gloss luster. This next generation lip stain, formulated with a blend of light hydrating oils & concentrated pigments, delivers lasting colour with a glossy finish. Packed with 30% water, Colour Riche Shine Stain leaves lips soft, comfortable and hydrated for up to 6 hours.
Packaging: I love it! It has this gorgeous gold packaging that looks elegant and much more expensive than the actual price. (Similar to the YSL)
The colour stain definitely delivers on colour pay off and shine. It is also long lasting, after layering; it leaves thick, glossy finish that stays on for hours. But I have noticed after eating the lip stain turns matte, I have to reapply it to have that glossy finish.
The only downside to this product is the colour range. There are not that many wearable colours, it has some lilacs that are definitely not that wearable during the day. Nonetheless, some people can pull it off in the evening but it is not a colour that suits me.
Overall the lip stains didn’t disappoint me and my favourite one was Juliet. I would definitely recommend these lip stains and they are well worth the price.
I hope you liked my review!!
The colour I was matched up with was Natural Beige. But when I first purchased this product it was during the summer, so I was one shade darker- Rich Vanilla. The colour Natural Beige is perfect for me now but as summer arrives I will change back to my Rich Vanilla.
Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF15 is a finely milled powder composed completely of natural elements with 15 active amino acids to clear the skin of toxins, promote healthy skin cell growth and fight the aging process. Oil-free and water-resistant, Mineral Powder SPF15 can be applied as a buildable foundation or a pigmented powder.
Pure Pearl Powders and Mica impart a soft focus effect creating a natural, healthy, youthful glow, while Zinc Oxide works as a sunscreen agent to block the sun’s harmful rays.
Packaging: The packaging is great. Personally I love the fact that the container is large – so it is easier for my kabuki brush to get right in there! The design and style of the pot is simple yet chic.
The coverage is light to medium, but is easily buildable for a heavier coverage. I only use it up to medium because I use my bobby brown concealer stick in my problem areas.
This powder has great staying power- I have really oily skin and it lasts me around six hours before I have to powder down again. It gives me a luminous to matte finish, but after a few hours, my natural oils blends in to my makeup, this makes my skin look dewy and I love the way this makes my skin glow.
I apply the powder with my Real Techniques Kabuki Brush giving it a flawless finish.
Overall, this would be one of the best mineral powder foundations I have used, in comparison to Sheer Cover. Sheer Cover made my skin look a bit powdery and the staying power for me was not long lasting so I had to reapply the powder which made it look cakey. So it’s a thumbs up for Laura Mercier Mineral Powder from me and I can say I’m on my third pot already… (You can tell I like it!)
I hope you like my review!!
Spring has sprung!!
No matter how long our winter, spring is sure to follow! 🙂
A new season means new beauty trends, so lets update our makeup collections! Its spring, the time to throw some colour back into our makeup bags!!!
Here are some of the trends fashion week focused on:
This season the eyes are the centre piece, with metallic eyes without the shimmer and to enhance the lower lashline with a smudge of liner.
Emerald green has been named the colour of 2013 because it looks amazing on all skin tones.
The emphasis of a neutral lip with glowing skin gave a beautiful natural look. Major lashes and thick brows were balanced out by softly smudged in eye liner.
This spring is all about the balance of strong colours against subtle colours and the features you want to enhance to with colour.
I hope you like the trends!
I know you have probably seen millions of reviews on this famous bronzer, it is raved about constantly on beauty blogosphere, but what can I say, it’s an amazing product. I would even say this is my favourite high-end bronzer!
This bronzer has a light to medium glow, however is suitable for most skin tones. It has an almost matte finish to it, with a subtle shimmer. I can get away with using this for both contouring and adding colour to my face.
Product Claims: Diffused powder with golden shimmer to create an all-over warmth and contour for the entire face. Bronzing Powder creates a natural looking glow which enhances or creates the look of tanned skin.
Packaging: The bronzer comes in standard black packaging that looks very sleek and elegant. I love the fact that it is a large bronzer and comes with a mirror; this makes it really easy to use and perfect for touch ups on the move.
I use this bronzer every single day on top of my foundation to contour my face to create definition. I love the way this bronzer blends into my skin and this is because the formulation of the powder is smooth.
I sweep this bronzer all over my face; it leaves warmth to my complexion, a lovely natural finish and I can easily build it up for a darker tan.
I love the colour of this bronzer as it is perfect for my skin tone because it does not make me look orange. I apply this bronzer with the Real Techniques Contour brush but lately I have been using the Real Techniques Blush brush and I love the finish it gives.
Overall I am really impressed with NARS Laguna; it has exceeded all my expectations and the hype for this product is well deserved. I would definitely recommend this high end bronzer to all you girlies out there!!
I hope you enjoyed the review 🙂
Ever since I have discovered this fantastic foundation, I have never looked back. I was always on the lookout for a foundation that has lasting power without the cakiness!
I finally took the plunge and bought the foundation in September 2012 and have been using it ever since. It gives a flawless finish and has a medium to full coverage. This foundation was perfect for me because I have really oily skin that is very sensitive.
15 hour staying power. Flawless all day.
This worry-free, long-wearing foundation makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity.
Won’t change colour, smudge or come off on clothes.
Feels lightweight and comfortable.
Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.
Packaging: The foundation is packaged in a sleek and elegant glass bottle, but personally I hate the way the foundation comes out. This is because it does not come with a pump and I have to tip the bottle, it always ends up coming out more than I need. *sigh*
The foundation is very buildable it can go from medium to full coverage and leaves your skin looking flawless.
I wouldn’t say this foundation gives you a natural look, but it is perfect for skins that have blemishes and scarring, you do not even need a concealer. I love the finish of this foundation, as it blends in with my natural oils.
This foundation has a very runny consistency, so it took me time to get the right amount of product out. The lasting power is amazing; I wear this foundation on nights out and it completely does not budge. But the only problem is that you need a good makeup remover, as it can be quite stubborn to take off.
I find it easier to apply my foundation with a Sigma F88 angled-flat kabuki brush; it gives my skin a faultless finish. But this depends on how much you apply and how well you blend it.
Overall, this is a perfect foundation for medium to full coverage and gives a matte finish to your skin. The coverage is easily built up and a little goes a long way!
I have always liked Nivea products because they have been good quality for there money. I knew I had to try these lip butters as soon as they were released. They come in four different flavours, I bought the Caramel Cream and Rasberry Rose.
The Nivea lip butter comes in this cute, flat tin. The tin is small and portable to put into my pocket or handbag.
The formula of this product is thick, creamy and glides easily onto the lips. The end result leaves your lips smooth and moisturised.
I have been using this product for a couple of weeks now, it leaves my lips super soft and it works perfectly well underneath lipstick. I have been mostly using the Caramel Cream butter at night. I apply thick layer over my lips and leave it over night. In the morning my lips are soft and smooth.
I would definitely repurchase this product again, it’s perfect for chapped and dry lips. I will be trying out the other two flavours also, the Vanilla & Macadamia and the Original one.
